    Title is adapted from an awesome painting in the men's restroom of Arsaga's at Gregg and Township in Fayetteville Arkansas titled "Forlorn Hedgehog Pines for Affectionate Embrace" or something to that effect.
    On the way home from school tears kept welling up in my eyes as I experienced an acute episode of this pervasive desire I've had for months to acquire a lover.. Not just a sleazy sex encounter, mind you, but a close, meaningful, long-term type intimate companion with whom to cook vegetarian dinners, celebrate cats, listen to symphonic musics, hike, discuss life events and thoughts and emotions and attempt the ineffables. As I was battling tears, I found myself imagining blues guitar licks and was immediately consoled. My thoughts would wander back to my frustration and tears would return, but I would imagine blues guitar licks and I would once again be consoled. I found humour in the bizarre control I had over my mood for the remaining duration of my walk home- sad unless imagining blues guitar licks. So I resolved to make that the topic and general direction of today's project.

    The vocalized frustration at 2:48 signifies a failure in the typical execution of this project- that is, no interruption and first take kept. Some balls heads were knocking at the studio and wanted to come into the house. So I returned to finish the track, deciding it would be more integritous (yes, integritous) to begin where I had left off than to start again. Soon the topic of the recording project became annoyance that the take was interrupted; I believe this is manifest in the music.     ... more
